On May 13th, 1884, Peter Walsh (1834 – 28 Jan 1910) and his wife Anastatia (1834 – 22 Nov 1898) arrived in Philadelphia aboard the SS Ohio. Accompanying them was their 18 year old son Richard (Oct 1865 – 13 Dec 1905). It is unknown when their son John (1864 – 10 Sep 1918) came to Philadelphia.
In 1887, Catherine Kelly (15 Mar 1866 – 03 Jan 1912) arrived. She was baptized in St. Senan’s parish in Kilmacow, Kilkenny.
Richard bought a burial plot on Sep 23, 1893 for Holy Cross Cemetary. Buried there are Peter, Anastasia, John, John’s wife Ellen and a William J. William was 2 months old when he died Sep 23, 1893.
Catherine was pregnant with her 9th child when her husband died in December ’05. Her 8th child died in April ’06 and she had Phillip in July. When Catherine died, Phillip was 6 and Anastatia became the head of the family at 21.
