Anastatia Walsh Sheridan

(21 May 1891 – 04 July 1976)

Spouse: Thomas Sheridan (26 July 1889 – Aug 1975)

“Statia” was born and lived in the Philadelphia area her entire life. She was baptized on July 3, 1892 at St. Patrick’s Church in Philadelphia. On her baptism certificate, her sponsors were John and Johanna Walsh. I believe that John is Richard’s brother as he is also in first Walsh burial plot in Holy Cross Cemetary. Johanna could possibly be Richard’s sister in Ireland.

Anastatia was an ambulance driver during World War I and became head of the family at age 21. At the time, her youngest sibling was 6.

Tom Sheridan worked for Statia’s brother Edward/Eddie but was later a builder/developer in his own right. During World War I, one of Tom’s jobs was to check that people were adhering to black out restrictions in Barnegat Bay where they lived.

Statia and Tom’s property was “Lausable Farm” located next to Springfield Country Club. Family lore is that Lausable was the name of the family farm back in Ireland.
